Growing up in Maine Chris developed the racing bug but did not have access to the typical junior, high school or college sailing experiences. After graduation he moved to the warmer climate of San Diego, CA, joined San Diego Yacht Club and crewed on a variety of keel boats. A few seasons later his focus shifted to driving when his real estate career relocated him to Orange County, CA. It was there that Chris joined Balboa Yacht Club and was first exposed to match racing.

In just his second season of match racing Chris has gradually been working his way up the ISAF open rankings, currently sitting in the top 120. With a full 2010 calendar of events his team and he are positioned to gain the experience necessary to advance to Grade 2 and eventually Grade 1 match race regattas.



Brian Janney Brian Janney

Brian grew up in San Diego, CA and started racing sail boats at the age of 14 at Mission Bay Yacht Club. At 15 Brian started working for Quantum Sails San Diego. By age 18 Brian had won his first National Championships in Capri 14.2 and raced in his first match race, the Jr. Governors Cup. Brian has won championships in Snipe, 1D35, Capri 14.2 (x2), Melges 24, US Sailing's Championship of Champions; as well as offshore races like 2006 San Diego to PV race, 2007 Chicago to Mackinac Race. Currently Brian races on and is the sail coordinator for the r/p 50 Blue Blazes, and r/p 86 Windquest, and the Melges 24 Quantum Racing.

Brian's match racing continued for San Diego Yacht Club in the Yacht Club Challenge which they won twice. Brian also sailed with Brian Angel for the 2006 ISAF Nations Cup, 2006 Ficker Cup, 2006 Knickerbocker Cup, 2007 Congressional Cup; And Dave Perry in the 2008 Ficker Cup.



Travis Wilson Travis Wilson

Travis grew up Sacramento CA and started racing sailboats on Folsom Lake with the Folsom Lake Yacht Club. At age 13 Travis was racing C -15's and by the age of 15 Travis was racing Santana 20's with his dad and close friends. At the age of 25 he was part of the Santana 20 National Championship team.

Over the next 10 years Travis was able to sail on high caliber teams in the Farr 40 class, ID 35 class, Melges 24 class, Etchell class, J105 class, and Flying Tiger class doing racing around the bouys. Travis also spent a short time doing offshore racing as part of the MZ 86 team Z5 which is now Windquest in the Great Lakes.



Isao Toyama Isao Toyama

Isao started sailing when he was 7 years old in Japan. He originally started at the Yamaha sailing school in Hayama, Japan. He moved to the US when he was 14 years old and started sailing J24's when he was 16. He campained a J24s against Kostecki and Ken & Brad Read in the 1980s. In the 1990s he sailed with the Japanese team "Swing", 2ton, ILC 46 and campained Melges 24s in the late 1990s. He also sailed Santa Cruze 70s (Orient Express & Kathmandoo), Santana 20s and many others up and down the coast of California. He started sailing Star boat and met Lowell North sailed with him on Starboat and his J105s.



Erik Berzins Erik Berzins

Erik Berzins grew up in a small town outside of Toronto, Canada. He was taught by his father to sail and race Albacores and Lasers on his native Lake Ontario. He quickly became fond of sailing and pursued regattas all over Canada. Moving to Vancouver to attend the University of British Columbia to study Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Erik began racing 29ers as well as larger keelboats in various buoy and offshore races.

After school he moved to Long Beach, CA to work for Alan Andrews Yacht Design and pursue his passions for sailing and yacht design. He was eager to learn the bow on larger keelboats and has never looked back enjoying pushing the limits on all boats he races. Erik has quickly completed many offshore miles, racing to Hawaii, Tahiti, Cabo san Lucas on Andrews designed boats. In 2008 he joined Balboa Yacht Club as a racing member to become more involved in match racing.
